On Friday, January 27, 2012, Atomic Books will host Smile, Hon, You’re in Baltimore!, a locally renowned small press publication, and The Dark Side of Disney, a bestselling travel guide. The event will feature local authors reading from the latest issue of Smile, Hon, You’re in Baltimore! (#15), as well as a reading and presentation by the author of The Dark Side of Disney, Leonard Kinsey, and his rockin’ cover model, Draven Star.
 
Smile, Hon, You’re in Baltimore!has received acclaim from WBAL’s Tony Pann, Utne Reader and Baltimore Magazine, and some guy in San Francisco who almost fell off the toilet reading it. The zine offers snapshots of life in Baltimore, with essays from a wide variety of contributors, including professional writers, cops, hairdressers, postal carriers, and that drunken guy at the bar. Scheduled readers include Editor William Patrick Tandy, Lisa Wiseman, Geoffrey Welchman, and Davida Gypsy Breier.
 
The Dark Side of Disney, subtitled The Anarchist Cookbook of Disney Travel Guides, offers savvy Disney travelers additional tricks to make the most of their visit. Armchair travelers will enjoy the hilarious exploits of Leonard Kinsey and his cohorts as they scam, infiltrate, and fornicate their way though the "The Happiest Place on Earth." Mr. Kinsey will have a photo and video presentation of his hijinks and will be assisted by cover model, Draven Star.
